5th Sunday Unity Services Discussed at March Board Meeting

Neil Deupree is the appointed Regional Elder assigned to our congregation. He visited the March board meeting to discuss 5th Sunday Unity Services. He asked what the advantages are of attending the gatherings. The responses were: They bring a smile to Robert’s face.  When churches supplied large choirs/activities the unity feels stronger and people are always friendly.  Neil then asked what the disadvantages are.  The responses were: Decreasing attendance makes them not as exciting and they are often fall on or happen during holiday weekends.  They are too loud and give me a head ache.  Neil then explained that all churches are feeling like it’s not as strong an experience as it used to be.  The next one is scheduled for the Sunday, April 29, 2012 and Pastor Dee Ann will be preaching.  This year only two 5th Sundays are scheduled, one in spring and one in the fall.  Pastors will discuss with their congregations the future of these worship experieces.                                                    * * * * *
